Terms & Conditions – Escape Room Experiences

Welcome to our Escape Room! By making a booking, purchasing a ticket, or participating in any of our activities, you agree to the following Terms and Conditions. Please read them carefully.

1. General

1.1 These Terms & Conditions apply to all bookings, activities, promotions and events provided by Sherlocked Escape Rooms (“the Company”).
1.2 The Company reserves the right to update or amend these Terms at any time.
1.3 All participants enter and use the premises, facilities and activities at their own risk.

2. Booking & Payment

2.1 Bookings are only confirmed once full payment or a required deposit has been received.
2.2 All prices are quoted in South African Rand (ZAR) and include VAT, unless stated otherwise.
2.3 The Company reserves the right to refuse a booking at its discretion.

3. Cancellations & Refunds

3.1 Cancellations made more than 48 hours before the scheduled booking may be rescheduled at no additional cost.
3.2 Cancellations within 48 hours of the booking, or no-shows, are non-refundable.
3.3 Late arrivals of more than 15 minutes may result in shortened game time or cancellation without refund.

4. Game Rules & Conduct

4.1 Instructions from game hosts must be followed at all times.
4.2 Participants may not use force, break props, or damage the room or equipment.
4.3 The use of cell phones, cameras, or recording devices during the game is strictly prohibited.
4.4 Food, alcohol, and smoking are not allowed inside the game rooms.

5. Age Restrictions

5.1 Children under the age of 12 must be accompanied by an adult.
5.2 Certain games may have specific age restrictions due to theme, difficulty, or content.

6. Safety

6.1 Participants must disclose any medical conditions that may affect safety (e.g., epilepsy, heart conditions, claustrophobia).
6.2 The Company is not responsible for injuries resulting from negligence, unsafe behaviour, or failure to follow instructions.
6.3 Emergency exits must remain unobstructed at all times.

7. Liability

7.1 The Company will not be liable for personal injury, loss, damage, or theft of personal belongings.
7.2 Participants are responsible for any damage caused to props, equipment, or facilities through misuse or negligence.

8. Intellectual Property

8.1 All game designs, puzzles, scripts, storylines, logos, and branding remain the exclusive property of the Company.
8.2 Reproduction, distribution, or sharing of confidential game content is strictly prohibited.

9. Filming & Photography

9.1 The Company may take photos for marketing purposes. No cameras or phones being used in the game rooms are strictly forbidden.
9.2 Participants who do not wish to appear in marketing content must notify staff before the game begins.

10. Availability & Right of Admission

10.1 Right of admission reserved.
10.2 The Company may refuse entry or remove any participant acting in a disruptive, unsafe, or intoxicated manner.

11. Gift Vouchers & Promotions

11.1 Promotional codes, vouchers, and discounts cannot be exchanged for cash.
11.2 Expired vouchers will not be accepted unless stated otherwise.
11.3 Only one promotional code may be used per booking.

12. Governing Law

These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa.
